Man Utd urged to sign Harry Kane instead of Viktor Gyokeres
Man Utd have been urged to spend £120m on England captain Harry Kane instead of signing striker Viktor Gyokeres.
Man Utd are one of a number of clubs interested in signing prolific goalscorer Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon. Signed from Championship side Coventry City in the summer of 2023, Gyokeres scored 43 goals in his first season at Sporting and has 23 in 16 games this term.

Speculation that the Sweden international could leave Sporting has intensified following the move of his manager Ruben Amorim to Man Utd. The Red Devils are considering a move for Gyokeres in January or the summer but former striker Louis Saha believes this would be a mistake.
The former Frenchman doesn't believe Gyokeres is the answer to United's attack, instead advising his former club to bring Harry Kane back to the top flight. Kane scored an impressive 61 goals in 61 games for Bayern Munich and established himself as one of Europe's most prolific goalscorers during his long spell at Tottenham.
With 213 Premier League goals to his name, Kane could be tempted to return to England at some point to break Alan Shearer's all-time goalscoring record of 260. Saha said: "You might be surprised, but I don't think United should go after Viktor Gyokeres.
I think he's a great player who's been in incredible form, even in the Champions League, but Sporting don't have the same pressure as United, they're a different team. At the moment, United have Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, and sometimes the pressure is too much for them.
It’s hard to find players who can do what Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland can do, United need to find players who can really cause problems for opponents and have proven that ability and that’s a big job.
United have spent a lot of money and I don’t think Gyokeres is the answer. If you could spend £120m on Harry Kane they should do it tomorrow, that’s the type of player United need.”
