Premier League hot spot round 6: Golden week of the "Antonys"

In a round with many problems with the referee, the biggest bright spot was the "Antonys" who simultaneously scored.

It will not be surprising that at the end of the season, fans of some teams are angry because the home team did not complete the goal because of a few "distorted" whistles. The sad thing is that referee mistakes can build up over time and distort season results, but we only realize it when it's over.

There's "Tony", there's a goal

The transfer to buy Antony from Ajax of MU attracted a lot of attention not only because of the huge price tag for a player who was not exactly the best in the Dutch football seasons, but also because this was another favorite of the club. Erik Ten Hag again arrived at Old Trafford in a summer where many players and former Ajax players were brought in.

But MU fans did not have to wait long to be delighted with this addition, when Antony himself in his first game on the field for the "Red Devils" (and started from the beginning) scored the opening goal in the 3rd win. -1 against Arsenal. Having won 4 consecutive rounds, this match made MU's situation more stable when they were close to the top 4 with only 1 point worse than Brighton.

But not only Antony of Brazil, this round of the Premier League also saw three other players named after the Anthony variant scoring. Jaidon Anthony scored Bournemouth's 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest, the first win since Scott Parker was sacked, while Ivan Toney scored a hat-trick as Brentford beat Leeds 5-2. Only Michail Antonio scored against Chelsea but West Ham still lost 1-2 because of the referee's mistake as mentioned.

Interestingly, the 4 players carry 4 different variations of their names: Antonio (Greek origin), Toney (Italy), Anthony (English) and Antony (Latin origin). The fact that MU has up to 3 players named Anthony (Elanga & Martial), maybe this will be a "great" scoring season for the "Red Devils"?

However, these names still cannot be as luxurious as Erling ("son of the chief"), so Haaland continued to score this round despite Man City tripping over Aston Villa.
